Pastor and Suzie Meehan have three children, Christopher II, Aaron, and Benjamin, all strong, committed Christians, married to Godly, Christian wives. Christopher II is the Assistant Pastor at Open Door. Aaron pastors The Apostolic Church of Stuart. Benjamin and his wife are music directors at First United Pentecostal Church in Jacksonville. Pastor and Suzie Meehan also have three grandchildren: Christopher III, Dakota, and William.
Open Door Apostolic Church has seen tremendous transition since he began pastoring in 2001. The assembly has moved out of a storefront location to purchasing a church on 2 acres of land and a sanctuary that seats 120. With fresh vision, and Godly zeal, the church forges forward with great expectation and anticipation.
The strong Ministerial Team and Core Group Leadership Team are aligning the church for great growth and effectiveness.
Chris Meehan was born in Stamford, Connecticut, but was raised since 13 years of age in Port St. Lucie, Florida. He was raised Roman Catholic from two loving, caring parents. In 1985, as he was finishing up an AS Degree in Electrical Engineering, he encountered the power of the living God at an evengelical meeting in Ft. Pierce, Florida with his girlfriend, Suzie Velie. Shortly after that meeting, his life became drastically changed by Jesus Christ, and he and Suzie were married. He quickly began to feel the call to the ministry, started preaching within that year at his father-in-law’s church, and has been preaching ever since. He knew that one day he would begin pastoring a church. After years of spiritual training and mentorship from many men of God, he earned his license with United Pentecostal Church Intl. and was appointed Assistant Pastor of the United Pentecostal Church of Port St. Lucie. A few years later, after the Pastor resigned, he was elected Pastor of what now is Open Door Apostolic Church.
